Gurvinder Kaur X Visa

Thank you for taking the time to meet with me today! I’ve put together a selection of projects and case studies that reflect my experience in visual design, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration.

Each piece highlights how I approach design challenges with intention—whether it's simplifying complex ideas, elevating product experiences, or creating systems that scale. I'm especially drawn to the intersection of design and technology, and the opportunity to contribute to mission-driven teams like Visa.

Feel free to take a look around, and I’d be happy to chat more if anything sparks your interest!

Why I’m Excited About Visa + Ad Hock

I’m Gurvinder, a multidisciplinary designer with over five years of experience across agencies, in-house teams like Workday, mission-driven orgs like TogetherSF, and a wide range of freelance projects.

My work spans email, digital, direct mail, motion graphics, and editorial design—with a focus on brand storytelling, scalable systems, and user-centered visuals that are not only beautiful, but effective.

What excites me about Ad Hock is the opportunity to join an in-house agency that’s redefining direct response creative for one of the most iconic global brands. I thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments where design solves real problems and drives results. Whether it’s creating lifecycle campaigns, optimizing email flows, or crafting cohesive brand experiences across channels, I bring a mix of strategy, craft, and curiosity to every project.

Beyond the screen, I’m a big fan of print media, a lover of Thai food, and a proud new pet parent to Barfi, my 6-month-old Maltipoo.

Voter Guide

For the 2024 Voter Guide, I played a central role in concepting and executing a full suite of campaign assets designed to drive engagement across digital and print. Working closely with the Creative Director, I led the creation of materials that balanced brand storytelling with direct response strategy.

Deliverables included email campaigns, paid social assets, event banners, print collateral, video, and presentation design—all aligned to a consistent visual system. I also managed photography and videography, enhancing our campaign narrative and expanding its emotional reach.

The project culminated in the production and distribution of 75,000 printed guides across San Francisco, alongside the launch of a dedicated campaign webpage—collectively reaching over 75,000 people and significantly amplifying the campaign’s visibility and impact.

Email & Blog Refresh

I led a full design refresh of our email templates and blog layout, starting with a deep audit of existing assets and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Events and Community Management. Through stakeholder interviews and iterative reviews, I identified key opportunities to improve readability, visual hierarchy, and user engagement.

The redesigned system enhanced both performance and consistency—resulting in increased email views, higher blog engagement, and a more cohesive brand experience across channels like X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and Instagram. This work helped streamline production while reinforcing our visual identity across all touchpoints.
